Coronavirus Update – Financial Support for Tier 3 Areas 10/10/2020
The Government has announced a 3 tier system for COVID alert, with Liverpool City Region placed in Tier 3 ( Very High). This will require pubs and bars to close, as well as other sectors as determined at a local level. Other areas may be placed in Tier 3 at a future date. Additional support by will be provided to businesses that are legally required to close due to restrictions, consisting of the following: -The Job Support Scheme will be expanded pay grants of 2/3rds of employees salaries, up to a maximum of £2,100 per month. -The employer will pay Employer National Insurance and auto-enrolment pension contributions. -Employees must be off work for a minimum of 7 consecutive days. -The Scheme will commence on 1st November 2020, and HMRC claim service will be available from early December. -The Local Restrictions Support Grant is being improved so that businesses are eligible for grant payment after two weeks of closure. -For properties with a rateable value up to £15,000, the grant will amount to £667 per two weeks of closure. -For properties with a rateable value of over £15,000 and less than £51,000, the grant will amount to £1,000 per two weeks of closure. -For properties with a rateable value of £51,000 and above, the grant will amount to £1,500 per two weeks of closure.
